The Via Sacra
The Sacro Monte is a devotional complex located on the hill behind Ossuccio (419 m a.s.l.), in front of the Comacina island, with a wonderful view on the lake. The Via Sacra is a path of about 1 km, accessible only on foot, along which there are 14 chapels, built between 1635 and 1710, which represent the Mysteries of the Rosary and lead to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso.
The uphill route is challenging with variable slopes (from 16% to 34%) and the road surface is made of cobblestone with uneven stretches. Along the way, surrounded by fields and woods, are the 14 chapels. The inside of the chapels, preceded by some steps, can be visited only during some religious events. The chapels, Baroque in-style, are embellished with 230 statues reproduced in life-size and made of stucco and terracotta.

Santuario della Beata Vergine del Soccorso
The Sanctuary, which represents the fifteenth stage of the Via Sacra, was built in honour of the Madonna del Soccorso, venerated as protector of the Diocese of Como. The main entrance has 3 steps (17 cm high each) and two consecutive double leaf  doors:  one is 84 cm wide each, the second one is 75 cm wide each. A ramp, located on the right side of the church (520 cm long, slope of 5%), allows access to the sanctuary from the secondary entrance, passing two consecutive doors: the first one is a two leaf door (48 cm wide each) and the second one is a hinged door (102 cm wide).

The church, with one nave, can be visited without obstacles and has chairs (seat height: 45 cm). To access the altar and the choir, it is necessary to pass 1 step (15 cm high). On the left side, in the middle of the nave, there is a side altar with a fresco of the year 1500, depicting the Virgin with Child and Sant'Eufemia; opposite, there is a nineteenth-century altarpiece depicting Saint Joseph.
The passageway on the right of the altar, leads to the Sacristy (built in 1710). On the left side of the altar, there is the Chapel of the Virgin which can be accessed via a double leaf door (70 cm wide each). The walls of the chapel are covered by ex-voto; the chapel has benches with kneelers (seat height: 46 cm).
The altar, surmounted by a small temple??, is the last station of the Rosary in the path of the Sacro Monte
