Cars can be parked 15 metres away, in via Castelnuovo, which has one parking space reserved for people with permits for citizens with disability.

Information for visitors
Entry is free for persons with disabilities and those accompanying them. Guided tours in Italian and English are organised.

Entrance
The museum is located on floor -1. The entrance from the street is by means of an automatic gate (270 cm) or a manual, two panelled gate (each panel 86 cm wide), followed by a ramp (25 m long, gradient 7%). Access to the museum is by an automatic door (118 cm). Persons with disabilities may go to the entrance to the museum in their motor vehicles.

Reception
The museum entrance hall contains:

• the wardrobe (counter height 95 cm)
• the ticket office (counter height 93 cm)
• the bookshop ( counter height 93 cm).

The museum staff are able to provide information and assistance.

Exhibition layout
The museum explains the full processing cycle of silk, and covers an area of around 1000 square metres.
The exhibition area covers 10 spacious, easily accessible rooms, each dedicated to a specific stage in the process.  
From room 8, a double ramp (ramp 1 2,5 m long, gradient 10%, ramp 2 3,5 m long, gradient 7%) leads to the final rooms in the museum.

Direction signs
The direction signs in the building are written in large, clearly visible characters (at least 7 cm).

Bathroom facilities
The equipped toilet is in the entrance hall, near the ticket office, and has the following specifications:

• anteroom with 90 cm wide hinged door
• suspended washbasin (space in front 144 cm)
• bathroom with 90 cm wide hinged door
• floor-standing WC (space in front 133 cm, 116 cm to the right and 27 cm to the left, vertical handle and handrail to the left, horizontal handle to the right)
• clearly visible bathroom symbols at eye height, with medium to large characters.

Emergency exits
The emergency routes are marked and there is a visual and acoustic alarm.
