Exhibition itinerary
The museum exhibits a wide range of vestments and sacred furnishings and a very rare musical code of the eleventh century.
The exhibition itinerary develops into three rooms with showcases (64 cm and 100 cm height from the floor).
In the first room, it is possible to admire some gilded copper crosses, goblets, silverware objects and reliquaries and two chaplets belonging to the Sanctuary of Gallivaggio.
In the second room there are a series of wooden statues, paintings, frescoes, frames, liturgical objects and religious clothes.
In the third room there is the so-called "Pace di Chiavenna", an eleventh century cover of an evangeliary, in embossed gold, gems, pearls and enamels, which is considered today a masterpiece of medieval jewellery. A magnifying glass lets you observe every single detail.
A screen placed above the "Pace di Chiavenna" plays videos about all sacred objects; the room is furnished with chairs and benches (seat: 43 cm height).
