Parking area
The museum is located in a limited traffic area (ZTL). It is possible to park about 100 meters in the church square, where there are many parking spaces, 2 of which are reserved for disabled pass holders.

The museum offers free guided tours, activities and educational workshops for schools and workshops for children.
Reservations are required for groups and educational activities  (tel. +393204653416). Workshops for people with disabilities can also be organized by reservation and a LIS interpreter can be requested.

Entrance
The Archaeological Museum is located in Palazzo Pretorio. You enter the courtyard of the building, paved in cobblestone, passing a step (6 cm high) and a double leaf gate (123 cm wide each).
The exhibition rooms are on the first floor that can be reached from the courtyard passing a step (10 cm high) and two flights of stairs (20 steps, 16 cm high each). People with motor disabilities can reach the first floor via an elevator located in the conference room. The entrance to the museum has a hinged door (89 cm wide).

Lift
The lift connecting the two floors (0,1) of the building can be reached from the courtyard (on the right side) by passing 2 steps (14 cm high each), or by an inclined ramp (length: 268 cm, slope of 4%), and a hinged door (90 cm wide).

  • The lift has the following characteristics:
  • door width: 80 cm; space inside cabin: 142x90 cm
  • internal push-button panel in Braille and in relief (120 cm high above the floor); the operation button must be kept pressed.
  • emergency bell (127 cm high above the floor).

Exhibition itinerary
The exhibition itinerary, which develops in the two rooms on the first floor, is divided into three sections: "Angera in prehistory", "Housing in Roman times" and "The Roman necropolis".
The 13 showcases placed at different heights  (64 cm and 80 cm above the ground) contain finds from the area. The museum has 2 tactile tables (65 cm high above the ground) with embossed braille printing panels (in Italian and English).The second room houses the MABA (the Children's Archaeological Museum), a colourful and accessible setting, designed for children with stools to reach the highest showcases, books and theme games, thanks to which they can learn together with their parents.
The Maba has a square table with four legs (clear space below 45 cm high) and chairs (seat height: 29 cm). The space is used for recreational activities aimed at people with sensory and psychic disabilities.

Along the walls of the museum there are some descriptive panels with large lettering (100 cm above the floor) in Italian and English.

In the courtyard of Palazzo Pretorio there are the lapidarium and other interesting finds; there are embossed Braille printing descriptive panels.

On the ground floor of the building there is a big conference room with about 50 seats (seat height: 46 cm) and a room with rectangular tables with four legs (clear space below: 70 cm high) and chairs (seat height: 46 cm ).

Orientation signage
In the building there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm).

Toilet facilities
The two toilets for people with disabilities are located on the ground floor room near the elevator and have the following characteristics: the first toilet has:

  • bathroom with sliding door (90 cm wide) and a changing table (78 cm high above the floor)
  • wall-mounted washbasin (clear space in front: 126 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (clear space: in front 155 cm, on the right side 32 cm, on the left side 91 cm, horizontal handlebar on the right-hand side)
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

The second toilet has:

  • toilet with hinged door (90 cm wide)
  • wall-mounted washbasin (clear space in front: 201 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (clear space: in front 68 cm, on the right side 185 cm, on the left side 56 cm, horizontal handlebar on left-hand side)
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

Emergency Exits
Emergency routes are well indicated. The building has an acoustic alarm device.
