Getting there by public transport
Salò is connected to Brescia and other villages on Lake Garda by various bus lines of the Arriva company. For information, please visit the Arriva website https://www.arriva.it/gardalake

Parking area
It is possible to park in the paying car park next to the museum, in via della Rocchetta 12. The lift of the car park allows access to the museum for people with motor disabilities.

Information for visitors
Admission is free for people with disabilities and reduced for their carer.  For permanent exhibitions there are panels describing the works in the rooms; audio guides are always available for temporary exhibitions. In some rooms there are descriptive panels in Braille and reproductions of works that can be tactfully explored. To book guided tours or educational activities it is advisable to contact the museum in advance.

Entrance
The main entrance of the museum presents in succession: a staircase of 25 steps (15 cm high each), 1 isolated step (15 cm high), a double leaf door (total width 150 cm), 2 steps (15 cm high). People with reduced mobility can access the museum from a secondary entrance, via the lift of the car park.

Reception
After the entrance, there are:

  • an InfoPoint-ticket office (counter height 90 cm),
  • a bookshop.

The museum staff is at your disposal for information and tourist reception services.

Lifts
The building has three lifts:

  • the first one is the lift of the car park and connects the street level with the secondary entrance of the museum (floor 0),
  • the second lift connects floor 0 with the mezzanine floor (where temporary exhibitions are housed) and the -1 floor (where the Museo del Nastro Azzurro and a toilet equipped for people with disabilities are);
  • the third lift connects the mezzanine floor with the floors +1, +2, +3, +4 that host permanent exhibitions.

The first lift, connecting the street floor with the secondary entrance of the museum, has the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm;  cabin: inner space 140x150 cm
  • lift level buttons panel with embossed Braille printing (maximum height 130 cm)
  • visual and acoustic signal of arrival at the floor
  • emergency bell.

The lift leads to a secondary entrance door: there is a bell to contact the museum staff who will open it. The door is 150 cm wide and takes you to the ticket office-InfoPoint area.

The other two lifts in the museum are identical and have the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm;  cabin: inner space 115x145 cm
  • touch screen keypad
  • visual and acoustic signal of arrival at the floor
  • emergency bell.

The museum staff is available to accompany the disabled  visitor during the use of the lifts.

Exhibition itinerary
The MuSa was founded in 2015 to enhance and communicate the identity of Salò, its excellence and its contribution to the national history. The museum hosts several permanent collections in both artistic and scientific fields; it also offers temporary exhibitions and cultural events.

These are the permanent artistic collections: "The art of a capital (1426-1797)"; "From Gasparo to today, five centuries of violin making on display"; "Art between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries"; "The Civic Collection of Design". The Musa also hosts the Civic Archaeological Museum Anton Maria Mucchi, dedicated to archaeological finds from a ¿¿Roman cemetery in use in Salò between the first and fourth century AD. The exhibition spaces are all accessible. 

On the +3 floor, films on the Italian history, in particular about the Second World War and  the Republic of Salò (in Italian and English) are projected.

Toilet facilities
The museum has two toilets equipped for people with disabilities, located on floors -1 and +2, both reachable by elevator.

The toilet on floor -1 has the following features:

  • vestibule with sliding door (85 cm wide) and  washbasin (clear space in front: 200 cm)
  • toilet with sliding door (80 cm wide)
  • wall-mounted washbasin (clear space in front: 130 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (seat height: 50 cm; clear space: in front 135 cm, on the right side 25 cm, on the left side 110 cm, handle on the left side).

The toilet on floor +2 has the following features:

  • vestibule with sliding door (85 cm wide) and  washbasin (clear space in front: 170 cm)
  • toilet with sliding door (80 cm wide)
  • wall-mounted washbasin (clear space in front: 120 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (seat height 50 cm; clear space:  in front: 140 cm, on the right side 110 cm; on the left side: 27 cm; handle on the right side).
