PATH 1: BESANO - MONTE GRUMELLO
The excursion to Monte Grumello starts in Novella. It is interesting because the oldest Triassic rocks and the most recent deposits linked to the passage of glaciers can be clearly seen. The path is equipped with explanatory panels (140 cm high above the ground).

Parking area
It is possible to park in Novella, where the "Sentiero 1" sign is.

Getting around
The itinerary first follows the old military road, and you can find panels (120 cm above the ground) about the geological history of the most interesting points you see. At the first junction (where there is a post without a sign) you can take the path on your right, which leads to the Rio Ponticelli in about fifteen minutes. The whole path has a compact surface, sometimes slightly sloping, and is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

SENTIERO  2: VIGGIÙ - MONTE ORSA - MONTE PRAVELLO
The excursion to Monte Pravello from Viggiù is interesting from a naturalistic and historical point of view. The path is equipped with explanatory panels (140 cm high above the ground).

Parking area
It is possible to park at the "colle S. Elia - Viggiù" parking area, or at the rest area along the asphalt road before the prohibition of access to non-authorized vehicles.

Getting around
From the village of Viggiù follow the signs to Sant'Elia and cross the village up to the Poaggia stream. The excursion to Monte Pravello follows the asphalt road that runs along the river and then crosses it, going to the opposite bank. You continue on asphalt road till the junction where you turn right on the military road (the Cadorna defensive line) to Monte Orsa.  The asphalt road gently leads to the top of Monte Orsa, to a junction where a dirt road begins that takes to the ridge between Monte Orsa and Monte Pravello.

The Cadorna defensive lines
Parallel to the asphalt road, there is a dirt path that allows you to visit the evocative remains of the Cadorna defensive line. The fortifications of the Cadorna Line outline an imaginary triangle that surrounds the highest part of the mountain (827 m - 970 m) and starts at  865 m a.s.l., to the right of the old military road.
The fortified complex includes remains of guard posts and machine guns watching over the valley of Meride. Two passages (3 meters wide) lead into tunnels with artillery posts. Several stretches of the Cadorna Line are not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

"A PATH ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYBODY" - MONTE PRAVELLO
How to get there

The path "accessible to everybody" connects Monte Orsa to Monte PravelloDisabled persons with disabled passes can reach the path by car from Viggiù, following the signs to Monte Pravello.

Parking area
In front of the entrance of the path there is a parking space; as an alternative, at about 50 meters there is a parking area available to customers of the "Rifugio Monte Pravello"

Getting around
The path is about 80 m long and 140 cm wide, with a compact surface. It allows people with reduced mobility to reach a nice panoramic point overlooking Lake Ceresio. The panoramic point can be reached by crossing a sloping ramp (7 meters long, slope of 7%). Along the path there is a picnic area, which has 2 rectangular wooden tables (clear space below: 69 cm) and 4 benches (seat height: 40 cm).

Orientation signage
In the park, there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm).
