Getting there by public transport
The "Convento dell'Annunciata" is in the heart of the Franciacorta region, in a dominant position. It is located about 3 km from the Rovato railway station (Milan - Brescia line). Parking area:
It is possible to park in the churchyard and reach the convent along a stretch of downhill road (25 meters long, slope of 5%) with paved paving.

Church and Convent entrance
The fifteenth-century loggia is accessed via 2 consecutive steps (15 cm high), which can be overcome with a ramp (183 cm long, slope of 11%) and a gate (119 cm wide).

The entrance to the church (on the left side) has 2 steps (17 cm high each), which can be overcome with a ramp (187 cm long, slope of 10%) and two consecutive doors: the first one is a two-leaf door (73 cm wide each), the second one is a hinged door (74 cm wide). The entrance of the Convent has 6 consecutive steps (16 cm high each) and two double leaf doors: the first one is 50 cm wide each, the second one is  63 cm wide each.

The Church
The church is decorated with prestigious frescoes among which stands out the scene of the "Annunciazione" painted by Romanino. The central nave and the side aisles can be visited without obstacles; the church has benches and chairs (seat height: 48 cm). The altar is accessed by passing 2 steps (18 cm high each).
On the side aisles there are 6 frescoed chapels that can be reached by passing a step (16 cm high).

On the right side, there are the "Cappella San Filippo Benizi", the "Cappella dell’Annunciata" and the "Cappella del Crocefisso". On the left side, there are: a chapel dedicated to the Seven Holy Founders of the Order of Servants of Mary, the "Cappella della Vergine Addolorata” and a chapel dedicated to Saint Pellegrino and Saint Giuliana.

Convent and Cloister
The convent develops on two floors around a rectangular cloister. The upper cloister can be reached from the bookshop, passing two consecutive steps (16 cm high each) and a double leaf door (52 cm wide each) or by a double leaf door (51 cm wide each) located behind the church altar which leads to the sacristy and the upper cloister.

From the upper cloister through three flights of stairs (28 steps in total - 17 cm high each) you reach the lower cloister. People with motor disabilities can walk a stretch of road downhill from the parking lot (35 meters long, slope of 8%, paved paving) and access the lower cloister through a hinged door (86 cm wide).

Upper cloister
From the upper cloister you can access the cells of the friars, the chapel, the library and the loggia. The entrance of the cells of the friars has a step (17 cm high) and a double leaf door (51 cm wide each).
You can access the chapel through a double leaf door (52 cm wide each), and inside you can find chairs (seat height: 46 cm). Continuing along the cloister and passing a step (16 cm high) and a double leaf door (47 cm wide each), you reach the library.
From the library, after passing 2 steps (16 cm high) and a double leaf door (57 cm wide each), you reach the loggia where you can enjoy a beautiful view.

Lower cloister
From the lower cloister you reach the Chapter House, the Refectory and the conference rooms. In order to reach the Chapter House from the cloister, you must overcome 2 steps (17 cm high each) and a double leaf door (50 cm wide each).
The refectory has a double leaf door (62 cm wide each). The two conference rooms have a double leaf door (55 cm wide each) and about 80 seats (seat height: 40 cm).

Orientation signage:
In the building, there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm).

Toilet facilities

The convent has two toilets. The first toilet, which can be accessed from the upper cloister by passing 1 step (17 cm high), has the following characteristics:

  • bathroom with hinged door (65 cm wide)
  • wall mounted washbasin (clear floor area in front: 113 cm)
  • toilet with hinged door (65 cm wide)
  • floor standing toilet (clear floor space: in front 96 cm, on the right side 60 cm, on the left side 13 cm)
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

The second toilet, which can be accessed from the lower cloister by passing 1 step (17 cm high) and a double leaf door (50 cm wide each), has the following characteristics:

  • bathroom with hinged door (70 cm wide)
  • wall mounted washbasin (clear floor area in front: 120 cm)
  • toilet with hinged door (69 cm wide)
  • floor standing toilet (clear floor space: in front 90 cm, on the right side 32 cm, on the left side 30 cm).

Bookshop
The bookshop (counter height: 83 cm) is located just after entering the convent.
