Getting around
The Sanctuary was built after the apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1519; it was later demolished in 1750 to build the new one. The central nave and the side aisles can be visited without obstacles; the church has benches and chairs (seat height: 48 cm). The main altar, adorned with magnificent frescoes, can be accessed by passing 9 consecutive steps (16 cm high each).

The two side altars of the sanctuary can be reached by passing a step (15 cm high). The altar of San Carlo Borromeo, on the right side, once was the old main altar that was removed from the presbytery and placed in place of the one belonging to the primitive church; the painting over the altar represents the Virgin Mary and Child, San Giuseppe, Sant'Anna and San Carlo Borromeo.

On the left side, there is the altar of San Francesco di Paola, under which is placed the urn of Santa Teresa di Gesù Bambino, a wooden work by sculptors from Val Gardena. You access the crypt, located under the presbytery, overcoming a wide passageway and 11 consecutive steps (16 cm high each, handrail on both sides, 90 cm above the ground). The crypt is divided into two sections: the first serves as an atrium to the second, where the statue of the Virgin is.

Orientation signage:
In the building, there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm).

Toilet facilities
Toilet facilities can be reached from the car park located behind the sanctuary by passing a ramp (8 meters long, slope of 7%) and a double leaf door (76 cm wide each). The toilets are on the right-hand side, just after the entrance.

The disabled toilet has the following characteristics:

  • vestibule with hinged door (93 cm wide) and suspended washbasin (clear space in front: 640 cm)
  • bathroom with hinged door (84 cm wide)
  • suspended washbasin (clear space in front 152 cm)
  • suspended toilet (clear space: in front160 cm, on the right side 116 cm, on the left side 30 cm, horizontal handlebar on the right side and handrail on the left side)
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

Romeo
On the churchyard in front of the sanctuary, there is a curved-shaped portico, called "Romeo", built in 1825 by architect Vantini.

Bookshop
The Bookshop, located inside the "Romeo", can be reached via 5 consecutive steps (15 cm high each) that can be overcome with a ramp (8 meters long, slope of 6%). The entrance to the shop (counter height: 107 cm) has a threshold (2 cm high) and two consecutive doors: the first is a double leaf door (38 cm wide each) and the second one is a hinged door (78 cm wide).
