Getting there by public transport
The Isolino Virginia, a small island, is located a few meters from the western shore of Lake Varese, in front of the Biandronno pier. Biandronno is served by bus line N21 (Varese - Travedona - Osmate).

Parking area
It is possible to park in the large parking area in Via Marconi, about 200 meters from the pier which has a parking space reserved for disabled pass holders.

Getting around
The small island, with its characteristic triangular shape for a total surface of about 9200 square meters, is the oldest settlement of stilts of the Alpine area and since 2011, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the island there is a small archaeological museum and it is an  archaeological and environmental constraint area.

Museum entrance
The Archaeological Museum is located on the right side of the pier, after the restaurant.
The museum can be accessed by passing two non-consecutive steps (25 cm and 9 cm high) and a double leaf door (60 cm wide each).

Reception
In the museum's atrium there is an InfoPoint (counter height: 76 cm). The museum staff is at your disposal for information and tourist reception services.

Exhibition itinerary
The exhibition path develops on two floors (ground floor and first floor) connected by only 20 steps (16 cm high each).
On the ground floor there is a hall. The two rooms on the first floor are connected by a double leaf door (48 cm wide each); in all the rooms there are some chairs (seat height: 40 cm). In the rooms it is possible to admire the archaeological finds found in the surrounding area exposed in showcases (91 cm high above the floor); information panels (105 cm high above the floor) are placed along the walls.

Orientation signage
In the building, there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm).

Archaeological area
The archaeological area has a bumpy surface in ground and grass.

Toilet facilities
The toilet is opposite to the entrance of the museum and has the following features:

  • toilet with hinged door (81 cm wide)
  • Squat toilet

"Tana dell'Isolino" Restaurant
The restaurant, located near the pier, has a hinged door (80 cm wide).
The restaurant (counter height: 98 cm) has rectangular and square tables (clear space below: 71 cm).
