Along Via Sant’Arialdo, on the right side of the Abbey, there are two parking spaces reserved for people with permits for citizens with disability,it is also possible to use a parking (at 100 m) with 40 parking spaces for cars and 5 spaces reserved for people with permits for citizens with disability. Entrance
In front of the courtyard of the church there is a broad entrance gate with a soil (2 cm) and a wide entrance door (350 cm wide). The Abbey can be reached following a ground path (50 m). The entrance has one step (3 cm), followed by two double paneled doors (124 cm each).
Reception
Info point and ticket office are on the right side of the Abbey: to reach the info point there is one step (15 cm) and one double manual paneled door (66 cm each). Either info point and ticket office have a counter (h 111 cm). The museum staff can provide information and assistance.
Exhibition itinerary
Founded in 1135 by San Bernard of Clairvaux, the Abbazia di Chiaravalle is one the most important monastery in north Italy.
The visit includes the church, the cloister, San Bernardo Chapel and the ancient Mill (only by reservation). Inside the church the central nave has no obstacles; from the side naves, through a double manual paneled door (89 cm each) it is possible to reach the altar, the choir and the chapels.To visit the altar and the choir it is necessary to get over two steps (h 14 cm each), while to visit the San Bernardo and Passion Chapel it is necessary to get over one step (2 cm). To reach the inner cloister, from the lateral right nave, it is necessary to overcome a double manual paneled door (65 cm each). The medieval building of the ancient Mill of Chiaravalle, displayed on 2 floors, has wide rooms.To get into the Mill it is necessary to overcome a double manual paneled door (170 cm each) and reach the oratory. It is possible to reach the entrance after a path of stone cross at times disconnected (30 m length, 118 cm wide) and after passing through 2 consecutive double manual paneled doors (90 cm each). The exhibition itinerary is on the ground and on the first floor. The first floor can be reached by two series of consecutive steps (6 and 12, h 15 cm) followed by a single paneled door (87 cm wide). At the first floor there are 6 rooms for meetings and teaching activities; there are rectangular tables with four legs (space underneath h 72 cm) and 20 chairs (h 44 cm).

Signage guidance
There are directional signs inside and outside (expect for the internal of the Church).There are directional signs that can be read by the visually impaired (characters over 7 cm in size) and contrasting with the background color.
Restrooms
In the Monastery there are two equipped toilets. The first is on the ground floor, inside the oratory on the left side and has the following specifications:
- anteroom with 90 cm sliding door
- washbasin (frontal space 145 cm)
- bathroom with 83 cm sliding door
- floor mounted WC (frontal space 129 cm, right hand space 141 cm and left hand space 27 cm, horizontal grab bars on both sides and handrail around the bathroom).
The second in on the ground floor in front of the Mill and it has the following specifications:
- anteroom with 92 cm sliding door
- bathroom with 92 cm sliding door
- washbasin (space in fornt 143 cm)
- floor-mounted WC (frontal space 213 cm, right hand space 114 cm, left hand space 37 cm, horizontal grab bars on both sides and handrail around the bathroom).
- symbols of the toilets well contrasted, at eye level, medium to large size.
Emergency exits
The emergency exits are signposted. An acoustic alarm is installed.
